Well, it wouldn’t be right not to write about my other passion which is the Afrikaans language.
In the very south of Africa there lives a tribe, young and mostly unknown, which is called Afrikaners and Boers (there is actually a dispute as to whom you can call a Boer and whom an Afrikaner but nevertheless).

They live in South Africa and Namibia and speak the youngest Germanic language there is – Afrikaans. About 40 % of the speakers are white and the rest is the Coloured people (official name). At least 7 mil all in all.

You really should hear the language spoken, I’m not going discuss THAT here. )))

Probably the best known native speaker of Afrikaans is … Charlize Theron!

Я бы был не я, если бы не написал здесь о ещё одном своём интересе – Африкаанс.
Есть такое племя, молодое, незнакомое (ну, не всем знакомое), звать его буры или африканеры (хотя есть споры, кого именно называть буром, а кого африканером).

Так вот живут они на юге Африки и говорят на самом молодом языке германской группы – Африкаансе. На языке на этом говорят как белые (процентов так 45), так и цветные. В целом почти 7 миллионов.

Язык этот нужно слышать, говорить о нём долго не хочу. Наверно самым известным его носителем сейчас является, не поверите, Шарлиз Терон! )))

На самом деле, это такой облегчённый нидерландский, но красивше! Хочу поделиться:
